Softball wins 3-of-4 over two day tilt

The MSU softball team played at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational over the weekend, splitting Saturday's day one by defeating Youngstown State, 14-0, and falling to Purdue, 7-3.

Senior first base Dayna Feenstra had a 3-for-4 effort at the plate, including one double.

Feenstra led the Spartans from the plate, followed by junior center fielder Nikki Nicosia, with two hits and senior outfielder Nicole Mercado with one hit, one run and one RBI.

On Sunday, the team was victorious over Toledo, 9-8, and beat Miami, 8-0, to conclude a weekend of play.

The softball team will resume action at Old College Field against Bowling Green on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
