The MSU baseball team has its home opener starting with a doubleheader against Western Illinois at 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Spartans are coming off a 7-5 loss to Ohio last Sunday. MSU is 6-8 on the year. Junior infielder Troy Krider leads MSU with a .370 batting average and 20 hits. MSU has five other players hitting more than .300 this season.
The two teams will be back in action again Sunday at noon.
